Right from the very first design, we wanted to enable farriers to shoe racehorses with even more comfort and soundness for the hoof. The specially designed front and hind shoes have the ideal shape for a perfect fit. This race plate has a wider section offering more cover and support to the hoof while the rounded edges reduce the risk of enjury or losing shoes. The coarseness of the nail holes matches perfectly the natural thickness of the hoof wall, combined with perfect pitch nailing is precise and effortless.

Imagine... there was a nail that was sharp, precise, drives fluently, clenches strongly and not to mention has a hardened nail head that slows down the wear process. This unique Kerckhaert technology changed the game completely for horses that often stand on harder or sandy surfaces. The nail head is hardened locally allowing the nail to wear more evenly with the horseshoe. Precise heat control keeps the nail strong and prevents it from losing tensile strength. The transition from traditional steel hardness to the hardened nail head is gradually, so there is no breaking point.
